KG College of Allied health sciences celebrates, Sevapur Manickam a yogic guru from Sri Ramakrishna mission vidyalaya, Coimbatore. He started with a pranayama and has explained about the yoga day celebrations. He said that yoga day was started in 2015 by the genuine effort made by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi ji, and it is celebrated every year on 21st of June.
Yoga is a natural medicine lives beyond 5000 years; it has power to cure the diseases of the body, mind and soul. He told the very basics like yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word Yuj means union of the individual consciousness or soul within the universal spirit. He insisted that doing yogic poses daily and following basic information about the yoga like it supports the nervous system, respiratory system and digestive systems. Doing yoga improves emotional balances in the body. It helps to alter the behavior in students and yogic posture improves positive effect on the mental state which aids in developing creativity.
Doing yoga in everyday life is one of the healthiest practice people can ever make. It not only makes you physically well but will calm your mind and soul.
International Yoga day was celebrated at KG College of Allied health sciences on June 21st. This is the fourth year we are celebrating the Yoga day. Yoga day was started in 2015 by the genuine effort made by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi ji.
100 students from KG College of Allied health sciences were gathered in the KG College ground at 6:30 am on 21st June along with our physical director Mr Suresh, Mr.Vasundh and Ms.Divyadharshini the lecturers started the session with a small prayer and a small lecture about the yoga day and its importance.
Following this yogic poses like Surya Namaskar was demonstrated to the students and the students were instructed to perform the same. Surya Namaskar or Sun Salutation is a set of 12 asanas which aids to keep the breath, body and mind together in harmony. Breathing exercises (Pranayama) was given to the students and at the end the session was completed with Shavasna.
About 60 minutes these asana were done by the students. Yoga helps to rejuvenate Body, Mind and Soul. The session concluded with a thank you note given by the Principal Mr.S. Seetharaman, he encouraged the students to practice regular yoga to remain fit and to improve concentration. Regular practice of yoga will surely help our students to achieve a better life physically, mentally and spiritually.
