The B.Sc Nursing course was started in the year 1995. The Post Basic B.Sc Nursing and M.Sc Nursing courses were started in 1999 and 2001 respectively. Having seen a steady growth in starting various courses, the college continues to excel in providing the highest level of education and practice in the field of health care profession.
The college has eminent and experienced faculty in all branches who have been working with KG for more than a decade.
The students of KG College of Nursing acquire their clinical experience from KG Hospital, Coimbatore which is a NABH accredited Hospital. During their clinical postings, they are trained to impart comprehensive patient care in the intensive care units and also in the general wards. They become confident to work in any setting as they complete their student period.
So far, 21 batches of BSc Nursing students, 19 batches of Post Basic BSc Nursing students, and 17 batches of MSc Nursing students have passed out from this Institution and are placed Globally in various parts of the world.

National Service Scheme inculcates spirit of voluntary work among the students through sustained community interaction. The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India.
Our college NSS unit is recognized by The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai. We have an active NSS unit, which does welfare activities in the community. Our NSS volunteers actively involve in both regular and special camp activities.
The NSS volunteers organize awareness programmes on specific health days in various settings such as hospitals, primary health centre, schools and selected community areas. Every year special camp is organized for 7 days wherein 50 volunteers participates and organizes community development and health activities for the village. Volunteers create awareness by rally, health camps, health exhibits, posters, villupattu, puppet show, mime and skit.
Red Ribbon Clubs have become a powerful medium to reach out to young people, this programme is supported by the Higher Education Department and demonstrating the importance of inter-sector collaboration to address the issue of HIV / AIDS. RRC empower students in the age group of 17-25, by giving them information and life-skills to protect themselves from HIV/AIDS and changing the most active among them into peer educators. Our college Red Ribbon Club (RRC) is recognized under The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai spearheaded by the Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society (TNSACS). By involving the members of Red Ribbon Club, we conduct various activities in settings such as hospitals, primary health centre, schools and selected community areas.
YRC is a substantial group movement organized at the initial stages for students from 18 to 25 years of age with the colleges. In our esteemed organization a qualified lecturer is recognized as the leader and he/ she is called the PROGRAM OFFICER under his/ her guidance, the students are trained and encouraged to manage the affairs of group, electing their own chair person.A group of YRC volunteers formed in the college comprising minimum 20 students in one group, who are zealous and talented but primarily committed to the service of needy and the distress.
The Student Nurses Association of India(SNAI) is an affiliated association of the student Nurses under the umbrella of TNAI.
The SNA aims for reaping the “Best Nurses” by sowing the seeds right from the student period. SNA provides initial Licensure as a Registered Nurse & promote participation in Inter collegiate Sports, Cultural activities & collaborative relationships with various health organizations.
